One-pot Camping Meals

These are 35 of the best one-pot camping meals including, breakfast and dessert. Using only one piece of cookware means less packing and fewer dirty dishes to clean.

We are a big camping family. My summer vacations growing up were always camping and I have so many fond memories of it that I wanted to make sure I passed that down to my son. The only thing I don’t like about camping though is the dishes. In most of the places we camp, there is no hot water if there is water at all. And having to boil water to clean multiple pots and pans is no fun so I like to bring only one or 2 cast iron pans and use them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.

35 one-pot camping meals

Why we love one-pot camping meals

  • You only need to bring 1 pan which means less to pack
  • One-pot camping meals mean fewer dishes to clean and faster clean up. Hallelujah!
  • Most one-pot meals are easy to throw together because all the ingredients go in one pot and are pretty hands-off.

Favorite camping cooking supplies

  • Dutch Oven– This Deep Dish Dutch Oven is the most versatile piece of camping cookware you can own since you can cook anything in it. Not only can you cook in it directly in the fire but you can also bake with it.
  • Cast Iron Pan– A 10-inch Cast Iron Pan is the perfect size to make all your means and will last generations.
  • Lid Lifter– Cast iron gets extremely hot especially if you’re cooking directly in the fire so Dutch Oven Lid Lifter is a must-have.
  • Gloves– These heat-resistant gloves are extremely versatile while camping and cooking with fire.
  • Tripod– If you’re going to be cooking over the campfire a tripod is a must-have so you can adjust the height and get the perfect temperature.

I’ve been thinking of planning a camping trip this summer and not sure which of these 35 recipes I will try! They all sound good and love the one pot. Lugging camping gear around is no fun, less items the better. Thanks!

Still waiting after over a year since we ordered our family van with towing capabilities…hoping then to get a pop up for camping. Camping was always a norm for my family growing up. Part of the experience was also eating barely tolerable food so my kids growing up eating actually delicious food while camping would be a welcome change in tradition. S’mores nachos is some thing I would never of even fathomed and I might go ahead and make that even when I’m not camping, ha ha. The tripod also is a very cool accessory that I had not heard of, due to the aforementioned barely tolerable meals.
